Bangalore to Mysore Cab

Bangalore to Mysore by cab

Mysore is the most popular short trip from Bangalore, about 150 km away and around 3 hours by road. The access-controlled highway has made this a comfortable drive, and many people go for a single day or a weekend. A cab takes you from your door to your hotel, without changing transport or looking for parking at each stop.

The road

The route runs south-west through Ramanagara, Channapatna and Mandya. It is a toll road, and tolls are charged at actuals. Leaving Bangalore is usually the slowest part, so an early start helps. The return into the city on Sunday evenings can also be slow.

Stops on the way

Srirangapatna, close to Mysore, has the remains of Tipu Sultan's fort and the Ranganathaswamy temple. The Ranganathittu bird sanctuary is nearby. Channapatna is known for its wooden toys, and it makes an easy break. Tell the driver your stops before you set off, so you can plan the day.

What to see in Mysore

The Mysore Palace is the main attraction, and it draws big crowds during the Dasara festival. Chamundi Hill has views over the city, and Brindavan Gardens at the KRS dam is a popular evening stop. Check opening times, as they can change. The Hoysala temple at Somanathapura makes a good half-day trip.

One-way or round trip?

A one-way cab suits you if you are staying on or travelling further. For a same-day visit, a round trip keeps the car with you. Search both options in the booking box and compare the fares.

Going further

Mysore is also the gateway to other trips. You could continue to Coorg, or to Ooty through Bandipur, where forest road timings can apply. Check these before planning a late journey.

How booking works

Search with your pickup, drop, date and time, then compare the vehicles and fares on screen. Pick a car, add your name, mobile number and exact pickup address, and pay the 20% advance. The rest goes to the driver. Tolls, permits and parking are charged at actuals where they apply. Please read our cancellation and refund policy before you confirm.
