Kochi to Alappuzha Cab

Kochi to Alappuzha by cab

Alappuzha, also called Alleppey, is the heart of Kerala's backwaters. It is about 53 km from Kochi, around 1.5 hours along the coastal highway, so it works well as a day trip or the start of a houseboat stay.

Houseboat days

Most houseboats leave from the jetties near Alappuzha or Punnamada. Check your boat's check-in time and exact boarding point, then share them when you book, so your driver can drop you in the right place. Morning traffic in Kochi can be slow, so leave a good margin.

What else to see

Alappuzha Beach and its old lighthouse are close to town. Kumarakom, across Vembanad Lake, is another popular stay for travellers. The Nehru Trophy snake boat race, usually held in August, draws very large crowds, so plan ahead if you are visiting then.

One-way or round trip?

A one-way cab suits you if you are staying on a houseboat, and you can book your return separately. For a same-day visit, a round trip keeps the car with you.
